Fleye Foils

The Fleye Foils is a printed, iridescent foil in the shape of a fish flank. These films were developed in the USA by the legendary fly tyer Bob Popovics. In the meantime, however, this product is becoming increasingly popular with us too!

Fleye foils are used to bind imitation prey fish. For this purpose, these foils are placed on the side of the fly and integrated in the front area. The Fleye Foils have a self-adhesive back, which means they stay in place when they are tied. Finally, these flies are coated with 5-minute epoxy or "Bug Bond" UV glue, which gives them a natural, translucent finish and a long shelf life.

These foils offer a very simple way of creating true-to-original imitations of the most important prey fish in our latitudes, such as To tie sand eels, sprats and small herrings.

Flying with Fleye Foils is therefore ideal for sea trout and sea bass fishing on the European coasts! In addition, however, many other imitation fish can be tied with it, which means that Fleye Foils can also be used in many freshwater flies.
