Gammarus Foils

Scud foils are one of the new developments in fly tying. It has never been easier to tie realistic imitations of seaweed walkers and amphipods!

Gammarus foils are transparent foils in the shape of the back armor of amphipods. The foils have a printed segmentation and a self-adhesive back, which means that they remain in place when they are integrated. To get a different color, the Gammarus Foils can be colored accordingly with a waterproof marker. Finally, these foils should be coated with 5-minute epoxy or "Bug Bond" UV glue. In this way, the applied color is retained and the bow tie has a natural, translucent finish and a long service life.

These foils offer a very easy way to bind true-to-life imitations of sea kelp walkers and amphipods. Flies with Gammarus Foils are therefore suitable for sea trout fishing on the European coasts, but they can also be used excellently in imitations of limnic insects!
